Jagadguru Sri Adi Sankaracharya was the greatest exponent of the doctrine of Advaita Vedanta and a savior of Vedic Dharma. The existence of Vedic Dharma in India today is due to Sri Sankara. The forces opposed to Vedic religion were more numerous and powerful at the time of Sankara than they are today. Still, single- handed, within a very short time, Sankara overpowered them all and restored the Vedic Dharma and Advaita Vedanta to its pristine purity.
This website is dedicated to Sri Sankara. With the Jagadguru’s grace, we aspire to make this site as a vibrant source of information about our beloved and revered Acharya. We expect the site to grow as we are able to gather more information and make connections with other institutions and information sources.
While the followers of Acharya are many, authentic source of information about Him is limited. This is our humble effort to create a unique site that has Sri Adi Sankara as it’s very soul.
We are aware that a number of differing opinions exist with respect to several incidences that are attributed to his life. Our aim is to provide as much genuine information available as possible without offering any judgment on which opinion is right or wrong. We would invite anyone who has access to a source of authentic information and is willing to share it with us to please write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We have taken the liberty of aggregating information that is openly available on the Internet and there is no intention to impinge on any copyright. If at all it has happened it is an oversight and please point it out to us and we will have it removed.
